Studio Policies
Welcome! We are so excited that you are choosing The Dance Atelier to start or continue your dance journey. Please take a moment to read our studio policies. By enrolling with us you are agreeing to the below:
1. **Attendance**: We require regular attendance and punctuality for all classes. If you're unable to attend a class, please notify us in advance. If you are planning to take ballet examinations through the American Ballet Theatre, the minimum number of classes required for that grade must be taken each week. During recital preparation no classes or rehearsals can be missed.
2. **Dress Code**: Proper dance attire is required for all classes. This includes fitted dancewear, appropriate shoes, and hair tied back neatly. Upon enrollment you will receive the uniform requirements for your grade and age.
3. **Behavior**: We expect all students to show respect towards their instructors, fellow dancers, and the studio space. Any disruptive or disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated.
4. **Safety**: Safety is our top priority. Please follow all instructions given by the instructors and report any injuries or concerns immediately.
5. **Payment**: Tuition is based on a 10 month seasonal rate running from early September through the end of June (tuition will be prorated the first month of enrollment if applicable). Monthly tuition is based on the amount of hours taken per week. The price of tuition is based on an average of 4 classes per month and is not altered for months with holidays in which less than 4 classes are held. Typically, there are months in which 5 lessons are given, so in the course of the year each child is averaging 4 lessons per month. There are no credits or refunds given if a child misses a class.
There is a $25 registration fee due upon enrollment for all dancers.
Payment is through our parent portal. We prefer families to be set up on Autopay, but you can also log in each month to settle your account. Billing will occur on the 25th of each month, to prepay for the following month. If your account falls 10 days overdue we have the right to charge your card on file. We require each family to have an updated credit card on file with us.
Please be aware that there are extra fees associated with each recital for costumes and tickets.
If you would like to withdraw your child, please let us know in writing 7 days prior to your next billing date so we can ensure your payment is not taken and open up that spot for another child.
6. **Observation**: Parents and guardians are welcome to observe classes on designated viewing days. Please drop your children off 5 minutes prior to the beginning of their lesson and be on time to collect your child after their class. Please notify our staff if your child is being picked up by someone different than their regular parent/guardian on a particular day. If your child is unable to be dropped to the studio after 3 attempts, your child is not ready for dance and we encourage you to try again when they are a little older (mainly for Tiny Tots.)
7. **Communication**: We value open communication with our students and parents/guardians. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.
8. **Photography/Videography**: No photography or videography is allowed by parents/guardians or students during classes without prior permission from the studio. By signing your child up to dance for The Dance Atelier, you are giving permission for students to be photographed or filmed by our staff and the content may be used for social media.
9. **Lost Items**: The studio is not responsible for any lost items.
10. **Studio Etiquette**: Please keep noise levels to a minimum in common areas and clean up after yourself. Please do not wear street shoes on our dance floors.
By enrolling in our dance studio, you agree to abide by these policies. Thank you for choosing us as your new dance family!
